Xoke was born in Bristol in the UK in the mid seventies. After getting involved with computer from an early age - his brother had won a Spectrum 48K in a school raffle - he progressed onto Amigas and then PCs (back in the days of Dos and Windows 3).

After going to university to study computers he found a job with a large insurance company. Spending most of his time in Windows at work, he began to play with Mandrake Linux at home whilst playing around coding a friend's MUD.

In 2003 he was took redundancy and traveled to America and Australia where he found some other Linux enthusiasts. They introduced him to Ubuntu which he installed on his laptop in 2004. Since then he has spent most of his time using Linux.

In 2007 he married an American girl and is in the process of moving to the US permanently.

He wants to get into coding on Linux for some projects if anyone has any suggestions of good developer tools or projects let him know.

He has recently started using Twitter and Identi.ca. He can be found quite often as Xoke on there, but he would like to point out that the name 'Xoke' is used by other people as well and he probably isn't that person if you find another site mentioning him. He's not the Russian Girl on Deviant Art, for example!
